1. NOTICE BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES
Dubai Taxi Company P.J.S.C is a limited liability company incorporated in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of Personal Data of job candidates. This Candidate Privacy Notice (“Notice”) describes how we collect, use and safeguard candidates’ Personal Data, and how we safeguard their rights and freedom to privacy under applicable laws. The Company may implement additional policies, procedures, and standards to support the adoption of this Notice.
This Notice:
Applies to current, and past candidates across all DTC operating companies and affiliates.
Provides information on how DTC will use its candidates’ Personal Data in connection with the recruitment process at DTC, from job application to job offer.
In addition to this Notice, supplemental privacy terms or provisions (“Supplemental Privacy Terms”) may apply to a particular service that we provide to you or to a particular Platform or to a particular country of operations. Please make sure you read any Supplemental Privacy Terms carefully as they will supersede any terms of this Notice in respect of the service or Platform or country to which they relate.
2. NOTICE STATEMENTS
Candidates’ Personal Data shall be collected and managed to comply with the Company’s legal obligation as a prospective employer under applicable laws, to meet the Company’s legitimate business interests, including protecting the Company and its candidates. The Company shall respect an individuals’ privacy and comply with applicable data privacy laws. Adequate technical, administrative, and physical measures shall be applied to protect candidates’ Personal Data.
3. DEFINITIONS
Candidate:
For the purpose of this Notice, the term candidate includes individuals who apply for an open job position at any of DTC’s operating companies and affiliates or are prospective employees.
Personal Data:
Personal Data (or personal information) is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.
Special Category Data:
Special Category Data is Personal Data that needs more protection because of its sensitivity and which if lost, compromised, or disclosed without authorisation, could result in substantial harm, embarrassment, inconvenience, or unfairness to an individual. Examples of special category data include (but are not limited to) race and ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, trade union memberships, family data, biometric data used to identify an individual, genetic data, health data, criminal data, data related to sexual preferences, sex life, and/or sexual orientation.
4. WHAT CANDIDATE PERSONAL DATA DOES DTC COLLECT?
The types of Personal Data that will be collected from or about candidates include
Personal Information such as name, gender, date of birth, country of residence and citizenship.
Contact Information such as email, phone number, address.
Work Experience information such as role, country of employment, organization industry and role function.
Education details such as University name, major, degree & graduation date.
Languages and Proficiency
Recruitment information such as Curriculum Vitae (CV), Cover letter, references, and other information included in a CV as part of the application process.
Personal Documents to facilitate the work permit such as passport copy, civil ID, visa, education certificate or Marriage Certificate.
Other information candidates choose to share with the Company, for example, during interviews.
On occasions, when required or permitted by law, DTC may collect, store, and use the following special category of data:
Information about your race or ethnicity.
Information about your health, including any medical condition, health and sickness records and any type of disability.
Information about dependents (name, gender, date of birth and school grade).
Information about criminal convictions/allegations and offences.
We collect candidate Personal Data from the following sources:
The candidate
Recruitment agencies that we or the candidate has instructed in connection with a job application; and
Any other third parties such as former employees, credit reference agencies or other background check agencies.
If candidates fail to provide certain information when requested, we may be prevented from complying with our legal obligations, or we will not be able to process the candidate’s job application successfull
5. WHY DTC COLLECTS CANDIDATE PERSONAL DATA?
Candidate Personal Data collected, processed, and disclosed for business purposes, including establishing, managing, or terminating employment relationship with DTC. Such uses include:
Facilitate the candidate’s creation of a profile in our recruitment database.
Administer the job application, including assessing qualifications, screening, and interview processes.
Complying with applicable labour or employment statutes.
Determining eligibility for initial employment, including verification of references and qualifications.
Establishing benefits based on the count of dependents and their respective ages.
Improving our day-to-day operations including reporting purposes.
Communicating with the candidates throughout the recruitment process.
Match the skill and qualifications against current and new jobs at DTC and notifying candidates about the openings
6. WE MAY USE SPECIAL CATEGORIES DATA IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
Nationality, race, or ethnicity - We - may use information about your nationality, race, health and special needs such as any kind of disabilities or ethnicity to ensure meaningful equal opportunity monitoring and reporting, but we do not make decisions based on such factors. The lawful basis to use this information is to meet our legal obligation set by local governments during the recruitment process.
Criminal Records - We may require you to submit certain documents for us to be able to conduct criminal checks or to comply with our legal obligations as an employer.
Personal information - We may use the dependents' information to offer employment benefits such as tickets, medical insurance, and schooling whenever applicable.
7. ON WHAT BASIS DOES DTC USE CANDIDATE PERSONAL DATA?
We use candidate Personal Data on the following bases:
For legitimate interests’ purposes, where applicable. It is in our legitimate interests to use your Personal Data to decide whether to appoint you.
Where local laws require Consent, consent will be captured when required for collecting and processing personal data where legitimate interest is not applicable.
Legal obligations, compliance with a legal obligation to which DTC are subject.
Processing is necessary for the performance of contract, to decide whether to enter a contract of employment or engagement with you, in line with the candidate application.
8. WHO WILL DTC SHARE CANDIDATE PERSONAL DATA WITH?
Our Affiliates. We will share your personal data within DTC, including all affiliates where necessary for the purposes outlined above and in accordance with applicable laws.
We may share your personal data outside of DTC with:
Government Authorities and other officials the candidates Personal Data and, in some cases, Special Categories Data subject to applicable legal requirements and such disclosure will only be made to those who have a legitimate business need to know.
Service Providers DTC retains service providers such as recruitment agencies, human capital management and IT service providers to assist with the recruitment process. All service providers have signed contracts with DTC.
Third parties that receive your Personal Data perform their tasks upon our written instructions for your personal information and will only be disclosed with the necessary information. If the transfers of your personal data to suppliers located in varying jurisdictions, DTC will take appropriate safeguards such as conducting a data privacy impact assessment, entering applicable Standard Contractual Clauses arrangement or other equivalent data transfer mechanisms approved by the relevant data protection authority, or other binding and enforceable obligations
9. HOW CANDIDATE PERSONAL DATA AND DTC ARE PROTECTED?
We are committed to protecting the information you provide to us. We maintain physical, technical, and organisational safeguards to secure your personal data from unauthorised access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorized modification or unlawful destruction or accidental loss. We limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a responsibility towards your personal data and only on a need-to-know basis. They will only process your personal data on our instructions, and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality. Other safeguards that we will use to safeguard your personal data include:
applying physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in connection with the collection, storage, and disclosure of personal data
protecting the security of your personal data during transmission by using encryption protocols and software
using computer safeguards such as firewalls, antivirus and other security technologies to keep the personal data secure; and
regularly monitoring our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks and carrying out penetration testing to identify ways to further strengthen our security.
While we will do our best to ensure the security and protection of your personal data, the security of your personal data will depend in part on the security of the computer and/or mobile that you use to communicate with us, and the security measures you use to protect your user ID and passwords. To ensure that your personal data is kept safe at all times, please take appropriate measures to protect your user ID and passwords, and any other information that is necessary to use our Platforms.
10. WHERE DOES DTC STORE CANDIDATE PERSONAL DATA?
DTC is based in the United Arab Emirates and has Affiliates and service providers around the world. Candidate Personal Data may be transferred to, stored and processed in a country that is different from that where a candidate is based or resides, or the country in which we are based. However, we will always protect candidate Personal Data as described in this Notice, for as long as it remains under our control and regardless of location.
11. HOW LONG WILL DTC RETAIN CANDIDATE PERSONAL DATA FOR?
DTC collects the minimum amount of data required for the purposes outlined in this notice. We retain your personal data for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes outlined above or for the necessary periods required by local laws. The retention of personal data is governed and managed in accordance with our internal policies and data governance procedures.
If there has been no activity in relation to your Profile within one (1) year of your most recent application, your data will either be deleted, anonymized, or put beyond further use in our databases. However, we will retain and use your registration information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you wish to request that we no longer use your information to provide you services, you may contact us in accordance with Section 14
12. ACCESS YOUR DATA AND OTHER REQUESTS
Under certain circumstances and under certain applicable data protection laws, you may have the right to
request access to your personal data, which enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you
rectify the information we hold about you, which enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected
erase your personal data, which enables you to ask us to delete or remove your personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it
restrict our use of your personal data, which enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal data about you, for example, if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it
object to our use of your personal data under certain circumstances, including where it is based on automated processing.
withdraw at any time any consents you have provided for our use of your personal data for a particular purpose (where we have asked you for consent to use your information for that particular purpose as required in accordance with applicable laws); or
receive your personal data in a usable electronic format and transmit it to a third party (also known as data portability).
To view your rights and make the above requests, please visit our Privacy Webform. While we will exercise reasonable endeavours to meet your request (where practicable) and comply with any applicable laws, it may not always be possible to do so.
You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, where applicable. If you are concerned that any of the information, we hold about you is incorrect, or out of date, please write to us in accordance with Section 14 to report your concerns and we will take appropriate steps to amend our records.
Please note that we may require additional information from you to respond to your requests or to confirm your identity.
13. INTERPRETATION OF THIS PRIVACY NOTICE
This Notice does not create or confer upon any candidate any rights or impose upon DTC any rights or obligations outside of, or in addition to, any rights or obligations imposed by the data privacy laws applicable to such individual's Personal Data. In a specific case, should there be, any inconsistency between this Notice and such data privacy laws, this Notice shall be interpreted, in respect of that case, to give effect to, and comply with such data privacy laws.

15. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY NOTICE
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time and will endeavour to communicate changes to registered users. All changes will become effective when posted unless indicated otherwise. If we are going to use your personal data in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify you. Please review this Privacy Notice periodically for changes.
